So, it’s been a hot minute since we last posted a blog on our adventures as Secret Singers but we’re rising from the ashes and ‘vowing’ (pun intended) to share a little bit more often!

Today we’re sharing the wedding of George & Ollie, who I can now proudly call friends, what a set of huns they are!
We sat down with George and reminisced about the couple’s big day!
Grab yourself a cup of tea, pull up a pew (the puns don’t get any better) this one’s a good one!
Tell us about your big day and why was it so amazing?
Oh my goodness, we literally had THE BEST wedding day ever, after postponing the wedding from the previous year we were on tenterhooks as to whether it would even go ahead – and we only found out a few weeks before we were good to go and we couldn’t have asked for anything better.
One of my fondest memories from the wedding was looking out to our guests (having not seen most of them in the best part of two years) in the middle of a song (I love you baby) and everyone was on their feet with the widest smiles, swinging napkins around their head, absolutely loving life!
The atmosphere was so warm, everyone in the room in that moment was SO happy.
Why did you choose your venue?
It felt right as soon as we walked in. I’d like to think I wasn’t a bridezilla but I did want to be able to pick and choose all the different elements of the day.
We’d visited a few other venues but they seemed to be bound by a ‘rinse’ and ‘repeat’ template and we wanted something a bit different.
We chose New Craven Hall in Leeds and we have no regrets at all, the girls there couldn’t have been more helpful, they were accommodating, enthusiastic and pretty much let us do what we wanted, even down to us bringing our own wine from Martinez Wines as it was the house wine from Crafthouse; the restaurant where Ollie and I met.
Everyone always comments on ‘how cool’ our wedding was!
Did you marry on site or in church?
We got married at St Michael’s Church in Headingley, I lived in Headingley when I met Ollie, and his grandparents got married in the same Church.
It felt right, a nice sentiment to family and where our journey started.
Who were your caterers and what did you choose for your food options?
Ollie is actually a chef himself, so we did all the food ourselves (not on the day, but the prep) and then we enlisted our friends at Cux Catering to bring it all together and serve it on the day.
We had ALL the canapes – so much so, all of our guests were almost too full for the wedding breakfast and finished with Savvy Baker brownies and ice cream!
What was the theme for your wedding? New Craven Hall is a bit quirky.. and not very traditional from the outside which is why we loved it.
Once you open the doors it has the most amazing open brick walls and such a cool, industrial vibe to it.
We added some rustic touches; lots of dark green colours, stunning flowers and foliage from Floral Expressions in Headingley.
We had plant pots and herbs as centrepieces and the amazing Flo Cadd tied it all together with her beautiful stationery.
Why did you choose The Undercover Waiters to share your day?
We found The Undercover Waiters at the I Do weddingshow in Leeds.
I fell utterly in love with Michael and Adam from the word go – so warm and passionate about the business.
Ollie slightly less convinced at the idea agreed to watch the show they performed later that day.
It took him all of 30 seconds to be won over. We were laughing from the get go as they fumbled around on stage being silly, singing their hearts out and they got ALL of the crowd going.
I truly believe having the secret singers made our wedding and I can’t imagine the day without them and still now several months on, our friends still talk about ‘the amazing waiters at the wedding.’
