We’ve profiled our singing waiters, we’ve profiled our clients, but one person we haven’t formally met is The Undercover Waiters’ managing director.
Today we’ll introduce you to Michael who started the business in 2016.
From its humble beginnings in Leeds, The Undercover Waiters are now regarded as one of the country’s best live events entertainment companies, twice winning the prestigious I Do Wedding Awards and performing across the UK and abroad.

Hi Michael, why did you decide to set up The Undercover Waiters?
I created the business 4 years ago after seeing a gap in the market for more Singing Waiters during the daytimes at weddings.
Starting off with just Adam (Marco) and me, the team has grown to a pool of 18 singing waiters, attending approximately 250 weddings and events per year.
What’s it like running The Undercover Waiters?
Running a business comes with its stresses but ultimately the stress is always worth it when we do our thing and surprise the unsuspecting guests.
I love everything about weddings and events and am looking forward to the coming years expanding the brand and attending even more weddings and events
What do you like to do when you’re not working?
I am married to Simon and we have two Boxer Dogs (Sharon & Julie). When I’m not performing at weddings and events or dealing with everything business related, I love nothing more than spending time with them all and enjoying everything life has to offer.
Spending quality time with my family is always a bonus, too as they are in London whilst I live in Leeds.
Tell us a fun fact…
I trained at The Brit School alongside Jessie J, Adele & Kate Nash.

What is your favourite thing about being an Undercover Waiter?
I love working with the talented group of people who make The Undercover Waiters so special. Their passion for entertaining is infectious!
I also love the look on the guests faces when we reveal our true identities and burst into song!
Being part of someone’s special day and leaving them with lasting memories is amazing. People often tell us that we make their day which is truly a wonderful feeling. It’s the best job in the world!
What is your funniest moment?
For one of our shows in a 5-star hotel in York, Adam (Marco) stripped off to a Lycra unitard (at the request of the bride). It was hilarious and shows the lengths that our singing waiters are willing to go to make our clients’ special day one to remember!
What would be your superpower?
I’d love to be able to fly! Our team of singing waiters and I travel all over the UK and abroad. Being able to fly straight to the venue would be amazing!

Tell us a secret…
I have a genuine phobia of Cats. I absolutely love dogs, but cats have scared me for as long as I can remember!
